You have to work from the centre and the right hand side do not expose the lock on the left-hand side until after you’ve unlocked the other two and then you can complete it

my best guess is that this was an older version of the game or something, and some update chaged the way the first set clears the purple blocks.

Found this video after some digging, and I could have cried when I finally beat the level.
