The center column at the beginning of the level has two pigs a hammer and then another pign then the third hammer. I immediately get the ice block message well I select the third pig. Even though by selecting that pig the hammer is released and I can see that the colors of the pigs are available to smash.

Figured it out. If you hit the pigs in the center block quickly, then they all get on the conveyor while the other hammer is being released.
